  2. Thank you, Jeff! That is actually the 2nd recommendation for The Chrysanthemums I've gotten, so I think it's settled...I will read that next =)

    btw...any recommendations for "something magical" would be appreciated, too; I'm envisioning a mix between Alice in Wonderland and those inspirational art/journal non-fiction books would be perfect! You know, the ones that are like interviews with artists and they show photos of their work and their home settings, and quotes about where to find inspiring ideas. do you know of something combining the 2? ;)

  3. Not sure if this counts as magical, but it is certainly a good kind of original: Roald Dahl's "Skin and Other Stories". And since those are short, you could add The Sirens of Titan (a Kurt Vonnegut Jr. treasure, IMHO).
